The Burning of Fairfield Walking Tour: The Burning

Description: The Burning: "The Devouring Flames"
During these walking tour learn more about the events leading up to the attack and how the people of Fairfield dealt with its aftermath . Participants will view the new Burning of Fairfield exhibit and explore significant sites on and around the town green.

Description: Cruise the historic Black Rock Harbor re-enacting the evening that the Crown Forces held Fairfield.

Burning of Fairfield Walking Tour: Twilight Tour of The Burning
Time: 7:00 pm
Location: Fairfield Museum & History Center 370 Beach Road
Description: Learn about the attack while you walk! Hear events leading up to, during and after the fateful British attack in this tour which is one of a series of three special tours. Explore significant sites on the historic town green, learn about spies and privateers and view the museum's new exhibit.

Tavern Night at the Town Green

Location: The Rising Sun Tavern & Town Green located behind Fairfield Museum & History Center 370 Beach Road
Description: Escape to the 1700’s on July 11 at 6pm for a night of memorable food, drink, colonial entertainment and revelry! Enjoy a special brew by SBC made just for the occasion. Mingle with George Washington, tour the historic tavern and sing 18th century songs while we honor the Fairfield Fire Department Chief Richard Felner.

The house is furnished with period objects including textiles and fine pieces of furniture with Fairfield provenance. Take a stroll through the kitchen garden, generously maintained by the Fairfield Garden Club, and view plantings used in colonial times.

Interactive Cemetery Tour
