The Last Witch-Hunt: Fairfield 1692-93 with Professor David D. Hall
Time: 2:00 pm
Location: Fairfield Museum & History Center
Description: Drawing from his book, Witch-Hunting in Seventeenth-Century New England: A Documentary History, 1638-1693, Professor David D. Hall of the Harvard Divinity School will discuss the issues surrounding the New England witch-hunts, such as gender, village politics, religion, and popular culture in 17th century New England.
Encounter the witch-hunts through the eyes of those who participated: the accusers, the victims, the judges. The original texts tell in vivid detail a multi-dimensional story that conveys not only the process of witch-hunting but also the complexity of culture and society in early America.
