The following is a complete list of folder headings in the Library’s reference files. The reference files are a compilation of news clippings, photocopies, and other information gathered and categorized by FMHC. You will find information here on buildings, people, and select subjects. The files have grown to some forty-five linear feet over the years. New clippings and headings are added almost daily.

Did you Know?
Our reference files have long been known as “Vertical Files” among our staff. This name was originally descriptive of how the files were stored, in vertical filing cabinets. Our regulars fondly remember the mismatched cabinets outside the vault.

The reference files have since moved to lateral filing cabinets in the Willard H. and Dwight F. Fanton Rare Book and Manuscript Archive.
